I ate candied bacon this morning for breakfast. It wasn't this recipe, but it wound up looking like the end product here, and I did use brown sugar. Oh man, there are no words! It was so good!

Nice! I've been trying to work on something like this myself, but I use a honey-ginger-cayenne pepper mix for the glaze.

The problem I'm running into is getting the bacon to crisp up just right before glazing, as I prefer my bacon with crunch. Past attempts always end up a touch too chewy for me.

Try just brushing on just one side after cooking for ten minutes...works just as good and less hassle...thick peppered bacon plus just brown sugar...super easy and delicious!

I didn't have vinegar, so I used lemon juice instead. Surprising it still came out great. It was so delicious I ate most of it before I even got it on to the sandwich. The maple syrup made it that much better than the other recipes where they only used brown sugar.

Did this with a skillet over an open fire when camping with the cousins. We used marshmallows, and it was delicious. haha
