the entire financial industry treating the economy as a casino: yawns
a single subreddit treating the economy as a casino: woke

Nothing about this is new, it's just that instead of rich investor pros, it's regular people. The only thing special about this is that control is no longer in the hands of the rich boys club

I'm just happy to see the millionaires and billionaires who short stocked GameStop lost billions. Those assholes on Wall Street need as much money siphoned away as possible.

Sad to hear you guys on the side of hedge funds.

The contrast between this video and all others that I watched is staggering. Austin, have you been approached by any large financial firms lately?

THIS IS a poor explanation of what's actually happening.

Rich guys short selling stocks to further drive down the prices in order to buy them back at a profit is manipulation. Reddit users buying them up before those fart knockers can is justice.
PS. Got my info from Upper Echelon Gaming

These guys keep arguing "shorting is a good thing" without ever explaining why or what shorting even is

Why do big YouTubers say leave a comment but never look at them

I think the part that's been missed is how much over shorted the stock was. At some point it is the hedge funds fault because most people are not able to short stocks.

The TLDR of this video:
We side with greedy hedge fund managers that cry when poor people try to not be poor anymore.

It's not WSB's fault that these suits shorted a stock, lost money, then had to try to regain their investment. They're old enough to make decisions that are a roll of the dice then live with the consequences.

This is a horrific explanation of the GameStop Stock situation. The biggest reason this is happening is because large hedge funds shot-sold 120% of the available traded stocks. Some people found the PUBLIC information that showed what the short sellers had done, and decided to invest and inform others of the potential gains. This situation, as you actually said well, shows off that stocks are not the end all be all of a company. In a larger context, this situation shows that the stock market itself is a horrible metric to gauge the economy on.

My main thing is there is nothing illegal about this. At all. Literally the same as investors speaking amongst each other. I see nothing wrong with it. (Stocks are betting as is). It’s just the rich people are upset that they are losing while regular folk are winning

Feels like you keep defending short sellers and not really explaining why that is, would love to understand why that is when most other places scream at me how shortsellers are bad, are you just defending the 1%?

The redditors are literally playing by the same rules Wall Street plays by, but the rich snobs didn't like that and now they're trying to call foul.

Austin Coming off like a short seller who's mad..."Short Sellers Betting against a company? GOOD...Ordinary people betting against the short sellers? BAD". It always was a god damn betting market there are long term and short term bets, the hedge funds are just mad because THEY can't manipulate the market as easily because the average person was just locked out of the gambling ring so they had to go through the hedge fund bookies.
