Get into the Christmas spirit with these fudgy and chocolaty brownies that’s topped with a green buttercream! They’re absolutely perfect for your holiday celebrations this season 🎄
Ingredients :
Maida - 1.5 Cups
Castor Sugar - 1 Cup
Brown Sugar - ½ Cup
Cocoa Pwd - ⅓rd Cup
Milk - 2 Tablespoons
Baking Soda - 1/4th tsp
Salt - 1/4th tsp
Butter - 1/4th Cup
Flax Seed Pwd - 3 Tablespoons
Water (for flax seeds) - 1/4th cup
Chocolate - 1 + 1/4th Cup
For the Buttercream :
Unsalted Butter (softened) - 1/4th Cup
Icing Sugar - ½ Cup
Vanilla Essence - 1/4th tsp
Green Color - few drops (optional)
Process :
* Pre-heat the oven at 180 C
* To make the Flax Egg - mix the flax seed powder with water & let it sit for 10 minutes before using it
* Start by melting the chocolate & butter in a mixing bowl - you can choose to microwave it or use a double boiler to melt it
* Once melted, add in the castor sugar & the brown sugar, mix it well - allow this mix to rest for 5 minutes before adding in the rest of the ingredients
* Next goes in the flax egg mixture, milk & vanilla essence - give it a mix
* Finally sift in your dry ingredients - flour, baking soda & salt & mix everything well until combined
* Transfer the batter to a lined 8”x8” square baking tin & bake the brownies for around 20-22 minutes in a pre-heated oven
* Meanwhile, to make the buttercream, use an electric whisk to whip the softened unsalted butter with sifted icing sugar & vanilla essence until it’s light & fluffy - add in a few drops of edible green color & mix it in
* Once the brownies have cooled down, cut them into triangles & pipe the buttercream on them as shown in the video - decorate with sprinkles of your choice
* Serve, Garnish & Enjoy!
