Flausino Vale (1894-1954), the "Brazilian Paganini" (as Heitor Villa-Lobos called him) was a Brazilian violinist, composer, and a major researcher on Brazilian folk music. His primary profession was a lawyer, but he also taught music history at the Conservatório Mineiro de Música. Inspired by Paganini, he composed an album of 26 Preludes for solo violin in a Brazilian landscape style.
Vale began his violin studies in 1904 with his uncle, João Augusto de Campos, disciple of Manuel Joaquim de Macedo, follower of the Léonard and Vieuxtemps' school.
In 1912, Flausino Vale moved to Belo Horizonte, the growing new Capital of the Minas Gerais State. He gave up boosting his artistic career in Rio de Janeiro in 1918 due to the Influenza A epidemic. He remained in Belo Horizonte, where he got a degree in Law in 1923, working as a lawyer until 1943. However, in 1922, he took the last year exams at the National Institute of Music, which recognised the completion of his musical studies.
Flausino Vale was the leader of the Society for Symphonic Concerts since its inception in 1925, a position he held for a decade, where he has also performed as a soloist. In 1934, already recognised for his musical prominence, he was given the chair of The History of Music and National Folklore by Levindo Furquim Lambert, the Director of the Minas Gerais Conservatory of Music in Belo Horizonte.
Vale committed his life in this discipline, publishing "Elements of Brazilian musical folklore" in 1936 and "Musicians of Minas Gerais" in 1938. Despite acquiring fame on the violin, he had few violin students for only one semester.

Going from the outfit and video topic, are you perhaps by any chance currently in Brazil? On the topic of the video, I loved the pieces! It's always great to discover some generally unknown works that are terrific and divulging them is always very appreciated by me.

What are all these booklets around him all about ? I'd like to get one. Besides that, the music is very pleasant. Thank you for posting it.
