The man told them the honest price which was 300 Sri lankan rupees ( which is nearly equal to one dollar) and they refused and bargained.... ;) I hate it, why do people have to bargain with the poor?

Coconuts that have a lot of water are typically younger and those that have a lot of meat are the older ones so you have to pick and choose you can’t get both from the same coconut if you want a lot of meat for a coconut that’s meant for eating

Those malai inside the tender coconut can vary. If it's soft and mushy it's a young coconut and more likely to have the water in it, which is a naturally healthy drink to fight dehydration.
The older it gets, the mushy coconut malai solidifies and turns into the brown coconut's kernel that is what we usually buy in the market when we are looking for coconut based products.
If the soft coconut malai is less, water will be more and if coconut malai is more water will be less usually.
Also most people don't realise the impact of global warming, pollution, and radiation impact from nuclear power reactors- all of which impact the quality of coconut water and malai and even what comes in packaged tender coconut drinks.
The seller can only sell what's growing in such climates, while people usually blame these sellers; and yes sometimes some of them can be not so ethical.
But most times though they can't have control about what supply they get- because these are all minimum wage workers depending on whatever supply they have access to in their locality.
The ones who can consciously change to providing better quality coconuts are firstly the people who raise the coconuts and also all tourists and locals whose usage of electricity, chemicals for daily housekeeping, cleanliness, make up and toiletries use, etc.- all contribute eventually over time to the quality of water that these trees have access to-- and then the quality of food & nutritional drink, we end up getting from the coconuts (or any other food raised/grown/cooked in such pollution exposed waters in tourist towns especially - but also in our normal lives too).

We definitely use that same idea as for spoon.
Jaz a tip for yous.
The yellow coconuts are more likely to have very little flesh inside compared to the green ones.

My dad wore a St.Christopher medal the entire time he was fighting in Vietnam. He was an 82nd Airborne Ranger. He saw plenty of combat and came back without a scratch. The Patron Saint of Travellers.
