How Lafranier road was reconstructed for a safer commute

Team Elmer's Update - Episode 4: Team Elmer's recently completed work on Lafranier Road in Traverse City, MI, revamping a mile and a half of deteriorating roadway.
The majority of the work was focused around the steep hill on the north end of the road near the busy South Airport Road intersection. The grade of the hill was lowered 12 feet, making it much safer for all travelers, particularly during the icy winter months.
Given the very limited right of way space on each side of the road, a redi-rock retaining wall was put in place to provide stable side slopes and space for brand new sidewalks!
