QUEENSTOWN FOOD GUIDE | Best FOOD in Queenstown, NEW ZEALAND | NZ food tour

We're home in New Zealand and are so excited to bring you this 4 part series on the best food in our homeland. This is our second New Zealand video and it's based in Queenstown. We hunt down Kiwi classics- a mince and cheese pie and a sausage roll, find a delicious sticky bun in Arrowtown and eat it in the Chinese Settlement plus head to Cardrona Hotel- one of New Zealand's most iconic buildings. What we ate and where we ate it:

1. Mince and cheese pie and sausage roll at Fergbaker, 40 Shotover St, Queenstown 9300. Open daily 6:30am to 4:30am

2. Sticky Bun from Provisions, 65 Buckingham St, Arrowtown 9302. Open daily 8:00am to 5:00pm.

3. A pint at the Cardrona Hotel, Cardrona Valley Rd, Cardrona 9381

4. Little Lamby and Fergburger from Fergburger, 42 Shotover St, Queenstown 9300. Open 8:00am to 5:00am.

Also recommended for fine dining:

4. Amisfield Bistro and Cellar Door, 10 Arrowtown-Lake Hayes Rd, Frankton, Queenstown 9371. Open daily 12:00pm to 8:00pm.

5. Rata, Te Nuku, 43 Ballarat St, Queenstown 9348. Open daily 12:00pm to 8:00pm.

I was there in February of 2019, had a Fergburger, several pies, and some gelato at Mrs. Ferg. Loved Queenstown, and got to play some music and sing down by the lake.

Fergburger !! Yes We were there 2 years ago we arrived late at night and it was the best things to eat at 11pm+ haha shame it rained the whole time we were there :’( - but queenstown is so beautiful, we love heading to milford sound too

My Top Ten....So much to
1. The Big Ferge Burger, Bakery and Ice Cream....burger is great and onion rings are awesome.
Ferge Bakery Pies are fantastic.... Need to try Lamb Shank and Vension Mushroom. Pies were better several years ago, but still good. Boston bun (cream donut) Apple pie is fantastic, eclairs, brownies, cream buns, pastries.... the list goes on and on. You can eat there every day for a week and its winner after winner.
Ferge Ice Cream would match some of the best ice cream in the world. Great quality dairy and amazing variety.
2. Fogo Brazilian BBQ Great way to taste New Zealand Meat.... seasoning is heavy, but food and drinks are great
3. The Grille Best Seafood Chowder in Queenstown at $27 is great value once you see the seafood. Mains are around $45-$55 which scares people off and is never too busy, but the food is great. Vension Tabbouleh, smoked sumac yoghurt is amazing. This place gets mixed reviews based on the pricing. But the chowder is a must.
4. Walters Peak by Steamboat Colonel's Homestead Restaurant.... Amazing location. Not a buffet fan but the pork belly is off the charts.
5. Ma Boulangerie is in the Remarkables shopping complex. French bakery and patisserie.
6. Rata. Expensive but Josh Emett is a world class chef. Worked for Gordon Ramsay and is talented. Haven't eaten at his Asian inspired restaurants in Queenstown.White man woking is not my thing.
7. Pedro's Lamb. Its all takeaway!! Buy some flat bread, garlic yogurt, salad from the supermarket and take it home. Winning.
8. The Sherwood New Zealand Produce at its best
9. Neat Meat butcher... Cook at home and buy some of New Zealand's best meat. Bourbon aged Scotch Fillet to Beef ribs.
10. Raewood Supermarket. Great meat, wont have the selection of Aged Meat in Neat Meat, but I would probably prefer to buy my meat here. Seafood is good too. This place has everything you want to cook the best home cooked meal.
I've been to Botswana.... I thought it was a little overrated. The menu is huge and the execution of food is always going to be a challenge. Too much ego. For Wild Boar dish has pork done in 3 ways. Belly, Rack and in shoulder was an over kill. All 3 were average, would have been better to do just one pork cut well.
That said, there are so many places to eat, was a shame this video only did 1 place from Queenstown.
