Ever wondered what sets Black Labradors apart from other Labs? It's more than just coat color. From behavior to health, and even lifespan, their color can impact various aspects of their life. We will find out in this video of Labrador Care

I am a person who LOVES dogs, Labradors even more. Being a Labrador Parent myself, I can understand how challenging it can be to raise one, especially for new dog owners. So I started this channel to help everyone take better care of their Labradors.

It’s hard to tell from the color. I’ve had a Black, Yellow, and Fox Red. The Black was aloof, the Yellow was kindness and tolerance, the Fox was happy and playful. They were my favorites of many dogs. My Shepherd was much smarter, and my two Pyrenees are better behaved. Love them all, but ADORED my Labs.

I love the black Lab; I still have my old boy who is 17 years old and a young girl of 15 months of which I think when I brought her home it lifted my old boy and gave him a new lease on life as he has picked up since she arrived..

“High energy”.
You got that right.

Our current lab is a black lab, and the first one we’ve gotten.
And she is absolutely CRAZY.

Even when we take her on walks several times a day, and play with her all day, she’ll still be bouncing off the walls and everything around her.

Love them all, but black is my favourite. My late back lab Mel, lived to 15. She died 4 years ago and is terribly missed. A more gentle and pleasant dog would be hard to find

I have 4 labradors, 2 blacks, 1 yellow, and 1 chocolate. They are all great pups, would not trade them for anything or anybody 😉.

Black Labs are more outgoing and more playful, in general. But since you can get ALL the colors in one litter, it's hard to quantify as an absolute. But Black Lab mixes do seem to retain more of the desirable Lab traits. As I often say, "Black dogs are best dogs".

Black labs are insanely loyal, almost to a fault, but that means what ever they do, they give it 100%. By far the most reliable work dog of the Labradors, this can result in an over dependence on owner attention and commands, good for strict training and tricks but can struggle to switch off for relaxation. Golden retrievers tend to have more independence and free thinking, which can sometimes come out in childish behavior or petulance, but owners tend to enjoy that more human child like behavior.

The title of the video “How are black labradors different than standard Labs “ The video doesn’t answer that question/title. Just a slur of different peoples opinions on different behaviors in the colored labs.. Perhaps change the title to how peoples opinions differ on the difference in color of the Labrador breeds for an example. Furthermore, there’s no such thing of a standard Labrador when it comes to colors of the Labrador.

Does having a white patch on chest means it's not pure bred?

80% of working labs are black
90% of guide dogs are yellow
95% of crazy labs are chocolate
Now tell me again that it's only a colour difference !!!!

You use the term "standard labs" as if it has meaning. It doesn't. There are two types of labs.... English (show) labs which are shorter and stockier and American (field/hunting) labs, which are taller, thinner and more athletic. Both English and American labs come in three recognized colors, so again, I'm not sure why you're referring to labs of any color as "standard".

There may not be anyrhing wrong with a yellow or chocolate lab. But to me it isn't a Lab unless it is black.
