These posts annoy me so much just because so many people seem to have missed the point of the movie and book: It is a commentary on nature vs nurture. Kevin's mother was an abusive narcissist who hated him since before he was born. So the question we are meant to ask ourselves is whether or not Kevin would have been better person if she had been a better mother?
