And there are strenghtened way of colours in Turkish language
Yeşil=Yemyeşil=very green
Kırmızı=Kıpkırmızı= very red
Sarı=sapsarı= very yellow
Siyah=simsiyah= very black
Mavi=masmavi= very blue
Pembe= Pespembe= very pink
Mor= Mosmor= very purple
Turuncu=Tupturuncu= very orange
Beyaz=Bembeyaz= very white
Kara=Kapkara= very black
Kara and siyah have same meaning. Actually Kara is original Turkish, siyah came from Arabic.

Thank you for your lessons, dear sir. They are very helpful indeed. I am an English teacher, but you gave me an opportunity to feel like a student again :) I have a question: in the words like " mavi" and " portakali" the sound "i" was like "I" without a dot, while in "gri" it was indeed long. Can "i" sometimes sound like "I" in Turkish?
