I feel it's important for the Doctor to give a printed prescription as it will be helpful for the patients

I am a medical student... System is changing we are now adviced to write medicines in bold and legible handwriting to avoid such things 😀

I am a Doctor & My Father is a chemist. So I know and understand both sides of the story. The most common problem in government hospitals is that the patient load is so high that it is impossible to clearly write the prescription which contains name of drug, frequency & duration. Imagine writing an average of 5 drugs per patient for 100 patients in a sitting all while having to listen to their complaints, examining them, asking questions & then prescribing drugs, Tests continuously nonstop for 5-6 hours at a time

Today I attend a Doctor, the handwriting was too good. Every letter of the word was readable. I myself told the chemist full prescription...

1st year MBBS student here, the only reason for our bad handwriting is our lengthy exams, the syllabus is so so vast and the time given is only 2.5 hours, no matter how much and how good you write, you only get passing marks in every exam, this creats a bad habit of writing fast and bad handwriting, which we all see in our prescriptions, due to these cases, the laws are made where doctors have to either write in readable writing or print the medication.

Yes digital prescription mandatory Krna chahiye....it's 100% true people don't know what doctr wrote and eventually sometime get wrong medicine or they keep on guessing it

Well.

I'm a medico.. I used to a very neat handwriting till class 10th like you can distinguish each alphabet.

Reason for bad hand writing is our education system..when i started preparing we were taught to use symbols and shortcuts more sften than full words and the lectures are so fast that we can't even follow up with it if we write everything.
And at last in medical college we have to study hell lot of stuff in little time on our own.. Professor don't teach everything and not even properly and since we have to memorize most of the things we don't give much attention to what we are writing as we use diagrams to study and we study Fórmula of medicines not their names.

People think that doctors prescribe medicines which give them cutbacks from Pharma companies. This might be true for some unethical practitioners but many a times drugs available in our country are lacking the active ingredient. One of my colleagues did a thesis in chemotherapy medicines available as generic drugs in our country and found that drug activity was as low as 5-10% in majority of them. As doctors also it is our duty to prescribe cheapest as well as most effective medication be it generic or branded

I am a doctor and now we are advised to write clearly and in bold letters so that it's understandable. Beauty is not important but it must be understandable is the norm lately.

Yes this digitally printed prescriptions must be mandatory, it hardly takes some time, keeping in mind the fees they take, they must write prescription clearly!
