Rajya Sabha Election 2024 Live Updates: Amid apprehensions of cross-voting by the Congress and Samajwadi Party (SP), the high-stakes Rajya Sabha elections for 15 seats in three states -- Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh -- began at 9 am on Tuesday. Polling will be held for 10 Rajya Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, four in Karnataka and one seat in Himachal Pradesh till 4 pm and counting will be held from 5 pm onwards. Out of the 56 Rajya Sabha seats going to polls, 41 members virtually secured their seats in the Upper House, although the results will be formally announced later today. The Rajya Sabha has 245 members. These MPs serve a six-year team with elections held for one-third of the seats every two years
