Also, Lionel Richie deserves a hugeeee standing ovation for his role here. Hosted the AMAs, won prizes, went to the studio, kept solving problems, made everyone feel at ease, made them laugh, kept guiding people, SANGGGG, and stayed until the very end (and of course he co wrote the song!!!!). I really enjoyed the documentary in the Netflix, the story behind the song is so touching, how Quincy Jones was great, the innocence and purity of 80's, the loving soul of Michael, Lionel & Micheal dedication is unbelievable, all the details of creating, like how Bob Dillan was upset because he didn't know what to do and finally he and Steven came up with magic solo.
I Was seven when this song aired in my country in Africa at the same moment around the world. I remember I went to the TV building with my parents to donate, because of this song millions of life's has changed.

My favorite part of the Netflix documentary is when the cameraman said he wrote up his invoice for the gig and then learned everyone involved volunteered. And here he is 40 years later, appearing in the documentary, knowing he was a part of something far greater than one night's pay.
