The battery loss is optional, in settings u can have 3 choices “5G on” “5G auto” which uses battery, and “LTE” which saves more battery is still quite frankly more than fast enough.

I disagree, the battery is great this year on all the 13 models; I'm getting 5-7 hours of screen on time daily with 15-20% battery left on my 13 mini. But if you are a power user or need to film with your phone, the regular 13 or Pro models would be a better fit.

I can’t imagine being on a phone 5, 6 or more hours per day. Most people actually have a work to do, and a life, you know. Mini is perfect for me and until yesterday I was happily using SE from 2016. I’m second day using mini and battery still showing 60 % charge.

Battery life is absolutely wonderful. I consider myself a bit of a heavy user, I really do feel like I waste way too much of my life on my phone. If I do happen to run it down to 20% by 9PM, I have realized my life is digital scum and I should re-evaluate my well-being. Those that run their giant phones dead half way through a day, dang. Seriously.

I switched to the 12 mini and the first day I had it, I thought I left it at home, but it was still in my pocket which is how a phone should feel. Glad the battery has hit up the swolenasyium a bit, but I do miss all day battery.

13 Pro mini would be a dream. I use the additional camera too much so had to go with the pro but hate the size and weight. It sucks to hold.

I’ve got from my iPhone 11 which I was barely getting through a full day after having it over a year (it was down to 88% health) to my iPhone 13 Pro Max and the battery life is ridiculous, I don’t need this much battery but it’s such a great feeling that I never have to worry about it running out in 1 day, in an ideal world I would have a smaller screen, but for the battery life - it’s absolutely worth it 👍

I feel like the battery life has been the biggest challenge to every mini phone because the size is literally what matters in batteries. As they tend to add more features to new phones it gets even harder to actually make mini size phone with a decent battery life in the future. I think 13 mini is the one to get after they drop the prices a bit.

On the contrary, I wonder if ProMotion on the 13 mini might actually have HELPED the batt life, considering it scales dynamically all the way down to 1hz, as opposed to the constant 60hz of the current display on the mini. Would've loved to see that happen, but oh well...guess we gotta be thankful for the existence of a premium small phone in 2021.

Have you tried going into settings and switching from “5G Auto” to only “LTE”. You can always switch it to “5G ON” if you need to upload something or download something via 5G. I think that would help considerably!
