National Day Istana Open House 2023

The National Youth Council was the lead agency which coordinated and organised MCCY’s programmes for the National Day Istana Open House 2023, together with the President’s Office/Istana, PA, MUIS, NAC, NHB, National Gallery Singapore and SportSG.

This year’s Istana Open House attracted a record number of more than 22,500 visitors on that day.

Some exciting activities included a photo exhibition highlighting initiatives championed by the volunteers of Youth Corps Singapore, educational activities by Outward Bound Singapore on co-existing with wildlife, a performance of an original composition by youth and presentation of a photobook, in commemoration of Mdm Halimah Yacob, Singapore’s 8th president, contribution as the Patron of Youth Corps Singapore.

This one-day event brought together community-oriented and local experience through the various traditional/heritage exhibition, food, performances, and hands on activities such as an immersive AR activity developed by staff and students from Singapore Polytechnic that highlighted the social fabric of Singapore’s past, present and future.
