In Port-au-Prince, nearly three million people are living in the grips of an asphyxiating gang war. The crisis continues despite the arrival of the first Kenyan police officers as part of a UN-backed multinational force to stem the violence. Although this international effort offers a glimmer of hope, few residents believe it could provide an effective or long-lasting solution. FRANCE 24's Catherine Norris-Trent and Roméo Langlois bring you behind the scenes of this exclusive 52-minute documentary.

Heartbreaking to see a man selling his bread in the midst of such violence and shooting. What a human spirit of survival

Sad situation. No one can save Haiti except themselves.

France 24 should make a documentary about how you forced Haiti to pay compensation for their freedom which caused them to be paying France for 100 years instead of developing their country

The art gallery owner was so inspiring in continuing to keep the centre open to keep hope alive.

It breaks my heart to see humans suffering from violence all over the world. To see that certain believes/perceptions of groups hinder development and prosperity makes me mad. Sending Love, compassion and true blessings to all of you!

Poverty is never an excuse! There are poor people all over the world that do not act this way. These gangs are lazy, bottom feeders who take advantage at every turn!

At the beginning of the video the guy driving is wanted by the FBI. But the person conducting the interview had no problem finding him. The FBI must not want him that bad.
