Take a deep dive into the Fender Player II Series:
The Fender Player II Stratocaster isn’t simply a gussied-up Player series model—even though the new, vintage-inspired finishes are rather striking. The latest evolution of Fender’s affordable, gig-ready line is more focused on increasing value and comfort, offering a rosewood or maple fretboard with rolled edges, a modern C-shape neck and upgraded hardware (such as Fender ClassicGear tuners). Other features include an alder body, 22 medium-jumbo frets, Player Series Alnico V single-coils (Alnico II humbuckers on HSS model) and aged plastic controls.
“The C-shape neck and rounded fretboard edges make this guitar really comfortable to play—especially if I’m using minor 7 and minor 9 chord voicings,” says French guitarist and content creator Valentine Morell. “I used to play the harp, so my favorite technique is fingerstyle, and the Player II Strat really complements the way I play. It’s easy to palm mute, the volume knob is quite close for changing levels with my pinky and I love playing arpeggios with the neck pickup, because it sounds round, rich and full. I also like using the floating tremolo, but I control it with my fingers instead of the bar.”
The Player II Stratocaster is also available in chambered ash and chambered mahogany variations.
