Sproles the goat of little guys 5'6 and played 13 seasons. It took him getting a broken arm and torn mcl on the same play to get him out of the league. Small and tough as nails.

There was a player in the 60s named Noland “the gnat” Smith. 5’6, 155 pounds. He played almost exclusively on kick offs and punts. Led the AFL in kickoff return yardage in 1967, with 1360 yards. Only lasted 3yrs in the NFL. Taking that kind of punishment at his size, during that era.
