My favorite thing about the Berserk Gene is that the confusion it causes is special: normal confusion lasts 2-5 turns. Berserk Gene confusion lasts 256 turns. For some reason.

When you defeat the Sudowoodo, it changes the sprite from Sudowoodo to Twin. There is a hard limit on the number of sprites in outdoor maps, and they couldn't have both Sudowoodo and Twin sprites, so they made it a variable sprite.

The same thing happens with the Rival in Olivine. He becomes the Swimmer sprite after encountering him. If you skip the encounter with him in Olivine, then the Swimmers on Routes 40 and 41 would be the rival instead.

The 2 frame animation is a gen 3 thing. In Emerald, the sprites had 2 frames as a single sprite, where it would flash between the two with an effect on top. Crystal's animations were all completely unique and had multiple frames.

Gold having one more item than Silver is false, as you can catch both box Legendaries in both games, and Ho-oh always has the Sacred Ash. You just get the one that isnt on your version's box at level 70 in the post game.

I loved doing the color palette glitch as a kid, but it eventually fixes itself, and doing it comes with the risk of overwriting your save file, so the farther you’re in the game, the riskier it gets.

Pretty sure Ho-oh has sacred ash in silver as well, when you battle or catch it. Therefore Gold doesn't have one more item than Silver. Of course I could be wrong.

It’s possible to restart your file at a specific time at the start of the game and it’ll save your starter in a box. You can have all 3 starters in one playthrough

What you could, in theory, do if the Berserk Gene existed in the modern games, is send out a bulky Pokémon with Own Tempo, holding the Berserk Gene, and have the ally Prankster Pokémon use Swagger on it to give you a plus four boost at turn one. Alternatively you could get a Prankster Riolu use Coaching if you want to forgo one of those four attack boosts for some extra defense. Doing this with Mudsdale (Who can use Iron Defense on the same turn), or even Tinkaton, or Lickilicky would be scary as heck.

Red and green had the same sprites. Blue had different ones. We got the blue ones in red and blue in the west. FRLG use the red/green sprites as basis for the updated ones.

There are two other ways to get a Moon Stone in Gen 2. If your mom gets enough money, she will buy one for you. There is one in Tohjo Falls, and you only need to be able to use Surf to get it.
