The transform tool is long overdue for an upgrade. Minimally to be able to set a new position. Blender does this very well allowing you to choose a point, origin, etc. as the new location for the transform.

Thanks so much for another great video! I've learnt so much by following your 'FreeCAD 0.20 / 0.21 For Beginners Tutorials' playlist! After watching 30+ videos of yours, may I please make a small suggestion from a newbie's perspective - when you apply a function or switch to a particular workbench, would you please briefly explain what it does or why we use it? For example, in this video, what does Upgrade/Downgrade do and in what other situations would I use it? Why did you say "for this part we have to use the Draft workbench" and not an alternative workbench? Thank you! 😄

The world needs a tool to take a 2d drawing and generate the model.

I would have thought there would be an option to simply move the origin point of an object. I used to use SketchUp before it when cloud-only and you could just chose the command and then click on the new origin point, then the X axis would rubber-band to you mouse cursor so you could snap it to another part of the object, then the Z axis would rubber-band to your cursor so you could snap that axis to some other point. (You could snap to points to put the part origin axis on that point or snap to edges/global axis to align the part axis to that line.)

I love your videos and love supporting you, this is great stuff. But I think it's better to have ask for support and money at the end. I always have to skip videos on YouTube that ask for compliment before I know whether they actually caught my attention .Hopefully that's not a terrible suggestion.

Hello I have troble with it? After choosing model and sktetch and then Edit-Align after a few second thesse 2 windows disapear. Any idea?

Good vid, but I dont get why. I have had it often in the past when imported solids have an origin miles away, and it can really mess up manipulation of an assembly, timestamp 2:25. Posted for algo 👍😂. Not a criticism.
