I always start off on my back but after a few minutes I just naturally roll into my true T-rex form as seen in this video.

ADHD lady here- I got those T-Rex arms and T-Rex reflexes- and if something moves, I’ll get distracted and follow whatever it is. A boyfriend many years ago called me “his little T-Rex”.

I cannot sleep on my back, like my body just won't fall asleep

Apparently if you have poor proprioception (the ability to tell where your body is in relation to the other parts of itself and where it is in space), like many NDs have, sleeping with parts of your body touching helps you feel more secure when you're unconscious because your brain 'knows where everything is' easier because multiple parts of your body are in contact.

For me I also need the deep pressure of my head on top of my arm. I can't sleep without the weight of it. Or my arms curled up close to me in a way that presses them up against me, or laying on top of them in some way that provides pressure. Also no matter how hot I am, I can't sleep without a blanket. A top sheet is the bare minimum for a restless sleep (but I also cut mine up for a sewing thing because I hate how it feels under a blanket so that's not an option anymore), but a blanket is better. Very excited to try out my weighted blanket!

Straight up had no idea this was an ADHD thing until my husband told me about it. 😂 Now I can’t stop noticing every time I do it. Which is always.

For real! Idc if my shoulder hurts all day, trying to sleep on my back feels like a psychopath move 😂

On the very rare occasion I fall asleep on my back, I wake up with my legs crossed like I'm sitting on the floor. My mother used to freak out and tell me about how I was going to cut off my circulation and kill my legs and I need to stop, and I'm just staring at her thinking 'and you believe this position was in any way intentional and thereby avoidable in the future??'

“Neurotypical cooties” brightened my day. For all the hacks, tricks and routines out there to make ADHD workable, my biggest fear is losing my superpowers. I don’t know how other people live in a world so slow and unrelated.

😂 I have sort of the T-rex arms but I have to tuck them under the pillow or the duvet so I won't feel myself breathing on them 😂

If I’m on my back when I sleep, my sleep paralysis kicks in, so I’m not dealing with that.

You know, sometimes you just point out the things in me that make me think that I have ADHD like T-Rex arms, ADHD paralysis, that voice in your head that feels like there’s always 100 people speaking, and the task of cleaning my room is literally literally impossible, and for some reason, I never seem to drink enough water. I swear there’s something wrong with me.

I do this but criss-cross like a mummy-- less stressful on the wrists. 😝

I'm usually exhausted enough to just be gone in like 10 seconds, even on my back. But I can always feel the pull towards the side...

Plus, when you sleep sitting with your nose straight up or just on your back, it sets off the nervous system sending signals to the brain and that's what causes nightmares.
