Walker Holster 1847

The Colt Walker of 1847 signalled the real beginnings of the six shooter era. These massive pistols were usually meant to be carried on the saddle (pommel holster) rather than the hip. They have served as the preferred sidearm of some of Hollywood's most iconic characters including Robert Duval as Augustus McCrae in Lonesome Dove, Clint Eastwood as Josey Wales, and Kim Darby as Mattie Ross in the original True Grit.

This is a holster for a Walker designed to be carried on the hip. It's made of 13-15 ounce saddle skirting. Hand tooled and stamped and dyed a deep brown color and oiled with pure neatsfoot oil.

Verry good looking holsters you make. But I have to say that I think your leather is unnecessary thick/heavy, what is it, 6mm?

Hi, my name is Emanuele Amorese and I would like to see a video on the making of a western saddle that recalled the 1880 models. I saw it two years ago and now it's no longer there. The saddle was colored dark brown and the rings were not anchored directly under the fork but were attached to the straps that passed over the fork.
