This is the best tip I’ve seen on YouTube when it comes to driving since I first started watching YouTube forever ago. Can’t even tell you how many times I’ve got myself into situations because I did exactly what you’re saying. People just want you out of the way. They’re not looking on your behalf you have to protect yourself and don’t let anybody else on the road rush you into a decision.

Every time this happens to me, I simply stand my ground. Nope. Not moving. You have the right of way, so you go first. I'll wait all day if I have to, before I go ahead of my turn in traffic.

You are 100% correct about not directing traffic, but drivers should never assume things are clear because someone's giving them space!

I had a cyclist riding on the road once right in front of me while we were going around a curve and I could tell he couldn't see through the curve but he tried waving me on to go around him and I decided to wait even though he was really slow. Then all of a sudden a semi truck came flying around the corner. So yeah, never let someone else direct you through traffic.

He’s letting you sit on his lane, doesn’t mean you cross the next lane without checking. This normally happens when you’re coming out of a driveway or into a driveway. It shouldn’t be that complicated.

Yeah it causes accidents regularly. When a driver does an unexpected move, when there's clearly an expected move it causes problems. Do what's expected and everything runs so much smoother.

Every morning to work, my roommate yells at the people waving "i cant see!!!" Im always so tempted to roll down and yell it myself. Also frustrating when people do thus right in front of a green light so the people behind them get frusteated too!

my aunt died this exact way, 23 years old, no seat belt. please dont let someone else direct an action that could take your life. your hands are behind the steering wheel of your own car, not theirs. dont worry about feeling pressured to go, they may not understand why you wont go, but they can wait. ive heard the saying "the graveyard is full of people with the right of way" for a reason. stay safe ❤

This is how I got in a car wreck when I was 6 months pregnant. My husband and I were 20 and our car was totaled and me and my son were in the hospital for a week. Thank God he survived and stayed in me for a couple more months. It was a frightening ordeal. The guy just pulled right out in front of us and we had one second to slam on the breaks before crashing. Had ptsd about cars for about a year after. I also had flashbacks when I was awake about being trapped to the hospital bed with my babies heart rate monitor beeping. People are so careless sometimes.
