THIS CREATIVE FESTIVAL OPENING IN BAGUIO BLEW MY MIND...

Baguio is known for being a very cold city here in the Philippines... but did you know it is also a UNESCO Creative City? We were invited by our Ninang to experience the opening of the Ibagiw: Baguio Creative Festival. For the next month, many activities will be happening. We were really fortunate to not only experience the opening performance, but to get the chance to experience two of the eleven restaurants as they created special menus and collaborated with artists.

You can come up to Baguio and experience some of these unique artistic and creative activities... and the food!

Baguio City is my home city… I was born and raised there until I immigrated to Canada in 2009. I visited Baguio almost every year, but during the pandemic, I refrained from traveling. I was able to spend Christmas in 2022…. Hoping to be able to go back home to Baguio in March 2025 for our High School Class reunion in March…. I am feeling homesick now as I watch this video. Thanks Kyle and Therine for visiting the Beautiful Baguio City❤

The Forest Lodge with all the Christmas decor and the cool mountain climate of Baguio must have given you Canada vibes. What a beautiful place.

The dinner and show at Gallery by Witchcraft looked very sosyal. Very impressive. The artworks and performances were incredible, too. I would love to try that rhubarb cheesecake with the passion fruit glaze looked amazing! The by itself would have been worth the dinner, but everything you showed us looked so delicious. I grew up eating rhubarb pies baked by my Mom and I love everything passion fruit from my time in Hawaii, so there's no way I could go wrong with that dessert. Masarap!

Continue to enjoy your time in Baguio with Therine!💞

I loved Baguio when I was there 9 years ago. Just a beautiful place full of friendly people and days of cooler and less humid weather. Thanks for bringing back happy memories.

CAMP JOHN HAY is ... what the Philippines would look, feel, and vibe like if it were located in North America. Such a COOL place - literally! 🤩 😎

I miss my elementary days... During the 5th and 6th grades I enjoyed our school trips to the Baguio Conversation Center for the Baguio Arts Festival. The art exhibitions really stimulates your brain to a lot of things... Kinda like awakening...

That was excellent stage performance. Whenever I see something like that, I always wish El Gamma Penumbra would be part of the show

I MISS Baguio! Last time I was there was 2008 or 9. I love the city primarily because of the art scene. Is Cafe By The Ruins still open, I wonder? I went up there in 2001 as part of my dissertation on indigenous weaving motifs so I ended up visiting several villages of different tribes to document their weaving. Baguio was my home base for the 2 weeks I was doing research. I even met Kidlat Tahimik, the famous sculptor and film-maker and Ugo Bigyan, the potter. AND Whang-Od, the tattoo artist up in Sagada! That was a major highlight for me. Miss the Ph terribly. Thank you, Kulas, for the vids. You and Kumander Daot are two of my favourite PINOY YTers. 😁😁😁
