I was today years old when I learned Cinemawins wasnt a Cinemasins spin -off, but a direct F You parody!

I remember the moment I stopped watching cinemasins was in his Lilo and Stitch video, he listed Nani singing Aloha Oe to Lilo as a sin because he thought they just put a Hawaiian sounding song in an emotional scene for no reason, when the song's title literally translates to 'farewell to thee' and was written by the last queen of Hawaii to the people, and Nani was singing it to Lilo because she thought it was the last night they would spend together before CPS took Lilo away. It was about her singing goodbye to her sister, and he treated it like a meaningless cultural reference, and that rubbed me the wrong way, so I dropped the channel.

CinemaWins genuinely had a positive impact on my internet habits. Cuz it was just kinda like "oh yeah, i can choose to watch positivity over negativity. Neat"

There's also a guy who points out the flaws in Cinemasins videos. He'll point out if a sin is just the host being confused on the movie or thinking about something else and count that as a sin of his own.

Shout out to those who remember OG cinemasins was just pointing continuity and production errors that were a fun peek behind the scenes… idk when exactly the change to their current “huhuhu thing bad! Huhuhu she say stupid thing! No, I wont pay attention to the movie I’m commenting on!” Stuff but it’s a real bummer

I love CinemaWins because it’s a great entry point for someone who wants to actually get into film critique. I actually get to learn about the making of the movie and the work put into it.

One thing I used to really enjoy about cinemasins is that they would remove sins when something in the movie was really good. I remember watching his Lion King video and for the first minute or so the sins were in the negative. The videos felt lighthearted and I used them to “watch” movies I wouldn’t have otherwise (horror, etc.)
I don’t really watch them anymore since they just haven’t popped up in my feed but it was fun while it lasted.

People have said that the best thing CinemaSins has ever done is inspire CinemaWins. Wins has way more production, thought, and heart.

I LOVE cinema wins. Lee’s videos always make me so happy to watch. Just being positive and genuinely liking something is contagious

Half of the sins they point out is just the main character not acting like a perfect robot with no flaws. Like how about you try to make strictly perfect logical decisions while being chased down by a axe murderer or whatever.

Especially since Cinemasins are so often grasping at straws, counting as flaws things that aren't really flaws... I remember in one video they complained about plot not making sense while literally showing a scene that was supposed to explain the "plot hole" but instead of listening to the character they focused on something totally not related. Can't remember which video it was tho.

Not to mention he also doesn’t just list everything he likes and that’s the entire video. He also takes time at the end to give a more in-depth comprehensive review about what he liked about the film.

I’ve seen both channels, and I always thought cinemawins was a second channel, since the voice just sounds so similar, and the edits and everything are basically identical

I used to love cinema sins but then I got fed up by the dick jokes and simply not understanding how movies work. Save the critiques for actual problems.

Dont even get me started. Because as soon as you have this argument, all of the cinemasins defenders are like "But its satire". Yeah, and theres also the saying about becoming the very thing you swore to destroy.

For the longest time i thought they were both the same guy, with one being a comedically harsh take, and the other being more light hearted

Edit: Cinemasins is narrated by Jeremy Scott, Lee Boucher the creator of Cinemawins is entirely unaffiliated with him or Chris Atkinson (the Cinemasins Co-founder) and did indeed make the channel to parody Cinemasins

I feel this a lot in fandom spaces, people are so dramatic and catastrophic about little details that aren't that important or out of context (specially with leaks) that it becomes hard for themselves to enjoy the show and they make it uncomfortable for those who still enjoy it to share their likes
