My cat loved me as a kitten. Then, she honestly just tolerated my existence in the house for YEARS. She loved my husband and claimed him as her own. She was a Maine Coon mix. Anyway, years into our marriage started fertility treatments. Initially, she did nothing. She stayed away no matter what hormones were being shot into me. But, three days after I did IVF, she was all up in my business again. It was like she was a kitten again. She was on top of me all the time! She would purr constantly & try to lick my face or groom my hair at night. She even started trying to suckle my ear lobes to the point that I'd wake up with ear lobe hickeys. I honestly thought she was just being weird bc we couldn't even take a test that would show accurate results for two weeks. Sure enough, two weeks in, I was pregnant. However, at 15 weeks, we found out that the baby no longer had a heartbeat. We were devastated. But, she didn't stop all three clingy, lovey behavior. So when I didn't actively misscarry the baby (ie no bleeding) I started getting it in my head that maybe the doctor missed something to the point that two weeks later when we had a D&C, I begged the doctor to do an additional ultrasound that day. But what was i going to say as to why i didn't believe that the baby wasn't going to make it?? Bc my cat told me so?? No! I'd look insane, i mean, i was insane at that point, but i didn't want the doctor to know that. She did the test anyway, and the baby was no longer alive. I had the D&C which was same day surgery. Mind you, that morning before I left the fire the hospital, she was ALL OVER ME! She ran after me crying when i left the house. But after the procedure, when we got home, she couldn't give a shit about me again! It was crazy!!!! Horrible, but amazing!
