Introduction to the oscilloscope

This video is a quick and dirty introduction to using an oscilloscope. The model that I am using here is the Hantek 6022BE. It is a USB based oscilloscope, but the controls and theory work with any digital scope.

An oscilloscope allows us to look into the circuits that we are working on and view the as voltage over time. This lets us see how individual components all the way to entire circuits are performing.

This video is by no means a complete tutorial on using an oscilloscope, it is just a primer for folks who have never used a scope before.

You have tried, but I got confused when you started talking about how to set the millivolt, trigger

You are using an application on screen, does this mean that you have some sort of USB breakout box that has the probes on it and your app uses the computer to do the job of a scope and send data back/forth between the probes?

ah yes that interface looked familiar, i have the hantek 1008, i wish it could do higher frequencies
