It's different and unique, in my opinion. I love it. The more you test it, the more addictive it becomes. In a world where so many houses are releasing similar fragrances, this really stands out. I get what you mean Amouage would take this to a higher level. Glad you did this one, Aaron

In addition to metal caps, I think we should get rid of disposable bottles too. All bottles should be refillable to reduce waste.

I tried a sample of Black Laquer.
It’s a special occasion dark fragrance. Very original. I thought it smelled fantastic.
Price is a sticking point. I don’t mind paying higher prices for wearable fragrances. I am just not sure when I would wear this.
Perfumery is exceptional.

I have a few samples of Black Lacquer & wore it a few times…
It does smell like a smooth lacquer painted piece of furniture !
as Aaron said it smells like a TF cologne, I like it as it dried down…It is very pleasant & a little addictive !

I dont want to buy it because of the price of the 50ml. but if TF sold it in a 100ml. for the price of the 50ml. I would buy it…

After sampling BL, the wife and I loved it! Got in a bottle and do not regret it one bit. For me it is not loud or attention grabbing. It does last 10+ hours and smells incredible. I would never wear it for everyday occasions but formal events, its perfect.

I don’t think I’d buy another TF. Cheap bottles, cheap atomisers, insane pricing. They’re good scents, just not THAT good. As someone else commented, they’re taking the piss.

Please try Boccanera from Orto Parisi. It’s very underrated because it gets wrongly compared to black Afghano. It also quite sad a lot of people online calling his work lazy because he made somewhat of a similar perfume. Would love to get your thoughts on that since your such a knowledgeable perfumer!

Great review Aaron. I love anything new from the House of Tom Ford. That said, this new incarnation is just too smokey for me. Although unique, I was not wowed whatsoever.
