The Dieppe Raid, also known as Operation Jubilee, was a pivotal Allied amphibious assault during World War II, launched on August 19, 1942. The raid involved over 6,000 infantrymen, predominantly Canadian, supported by British Commandos and a small number of American Rangers. They were backed by tanks from the Calgary Regiment, naval gunfire, and the Royal Air Force.
