As a meter reader in Florida I’m happy with these new meters, it keeps us from having to go onto someone’s property, preventing either a dog attack or an aggressive person. Yes the meter reader position will be gone but no I will not be losing my job.

In Indiana, I went through all the proper channels with Duke Energy to opt out of receiving a smart meter. They even sent a confirmation letter. And yet, this morning, they installed a smart meter. Not only that, they tried charging me for opting out even though I contacted them within the grace period. Now I have to fight this battle after the fact. I wish I would have put a lock on the meter to prevent them from taking it.

I'm just looking for a way to read my smart meter. After the really really cold few days in December in 2022. Hopefully I'll get the answer that something I can figure out. I used to think I was smart until I tried to read my smart meter. Ha ha.

I am sending in a question you guys have mentioned an app we can download to use with duke service. I live in South Carolina and in my area they are going to be installing the smart meters throughout the next few weeks. Me and my family are excited for them to be installed in our homes to help with managing our electricity cost. We had gotten a notice saying they they are going to install them so it’s not like they are doing this behind our backs like most people have been indicating their electric companies have been doing and that they have a management program we can use but don’t tell us how to get to that program. Any advice to where we can get a hold of this program to use with our smart meters?
