I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - Robert Eggers is one of the most exciting directors working nowadays. Having made a huge impression with The Witch and The Lighthouse, Eggers’s The Northman was his biggest, most ambitious movie to date. It perfectly married his aesthetic to a larger canvas that delivered for a broad audience but never felt compromised. The fact that The Northman wasn’t seen more widely on the big screen is a tragedy, but with Nosferatu, Eggers seems on the cusp of a major hit that should open him up to an even bigger audience

Releasing Nosferatu in Christmas is the boldest or riskiest move. I hope it pays off.

Its SO awesome that Eggers got investors for this film after The Northman (a great film) didn't do so well at the box office. It shows that there are people out there who really have faith in his ability to make a great film even if it doesn't bring in $1bil

Bram Stokers Dracula is my all time favorite vampire movie. I don’t ever want a remake. Yet, I’ve pondered what a modern version would look like. So, I’m 100% okay with a movie that has a similar story or beats. Two movies can coexist. Bram Stokers classic and this movie. A remake without it being a remake. I’m here for it!

I’ve been so excited for this one. Eggers has yet to disappoint me & this is bound to be another exciting entry to his filmography. This story was tailor-made for an auteur like Eggers & he’s got an excellent cast at his disposal here; love that Willem Dafoe got to return to this story again considering he did the fictionalized telling of the 1922 film’s making when he played Max Schreck/Orlock (totally robbed of winning the Oscar that year)

There seems to be a lot of hype about this film.
That Eggers used candles to light scenes. But Kubrick lit "Barry Lyndon" with candles back in the seventies.
The definitive vampire film for me is Coppola's "Bram Stoker's Dracula", a masterpiece I'd say.

Not surprising this will be scary. The original Nosferatu created shock and fear in 1922.
