Democrats fold to GOP on border policy, immigrants pay the price w/Juanita Martinez

Kamala Harris has made it clear that, while a new name is now at the top of the Democratic ticket in the #2024elections, the party policy on immigration and the border has not changed and will not change. At the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Harris and other speakers continued to adopt the language of Donald Trump and Republicans when speaking about immigration policy and the "crisis" on the US-Mexico border. Harris also declared her commitment to signing the Bipartisan Border Security Bill, which Republicans and six Democrats killed in the Senate earlier this year, into law; the bill would, among other things, require hundreds of millions of dollars of unspent funds to be used to continue building a wall on the border. However, prominent voices within the Democratic party are speaking out and urging the Biden-Harris Administration and the Harris campaign to change course on immigration and border policy. TRNN Editor-in-Chief Maximillian Alvarez speaks with Juanita Martinez, chair of the Maverick County Democratic Party in Texas, about how the so-called “immigration debate” is shaping this election, and who and what is being left out of that debate.

This is not an immigration issue, it’s an invasion, border was being overrun. Try doing these stunts on other countries borders and see how they handle them. Late 80’s through 90’s imperial beach and San Ysidro Port we would get groups of over 100 (banzai) from fence or port. When that started to be ineffective they started doing it east of San Diego by campo and Blvd. It wasn’t easy rounding up groups of 100. At that time it was catch & release after 10th time you were detained

Of course it’s extremely sad and horrible to see this these families that want safety n a better life but you can’t just go to any country and live there! There is a process - with any country. And republicans have never said all illegal immigrants are bad. You have to know that the bad illegal immigrants try to get in our country making it hard for the families that are truly wanting a better life in America. It’s sick to say that republican are against immigrants. This a a big lie n evil to say this cynical rhetoric lie of the Republican Party. And as much as my heart hurts for the families that seek help the evil immigrants taking advantage of this are coming killing American, taking over homes, thief, murder has increased in our country with the Biden administration. There needs to be a better process yes but safety of our country comes first.
