I think IU and Suga are some of the best rags to riches stories, because they both went through really hard times trying to make their dreams in music a reality. IU was literally just a kid when she started going to dozens of auditions and find a way to pull her family up with her. And Suga still decided to go through with trying to make it in music when it became clear he wouldn’t get support from others, and now they are at the top of the Korean entertainment industry. Other idols may have gone through struggles, but those two showed an amazing amount of resilience and drive.

I’m very proud of Yoongi. He would have to choose between extra food or a bus ticket to school when he was younger. He struggled so much but he worked so hard. And it payed off. He’s now a member of the biggest group on the planet with an insane amount of money. He’s achieved so much but he doesn’t let it get to his head. He’s so humble, it’s so nice to see that.

Tbh all of BTS members are self-made. If I'm not mistaken, only Jin's family is pretty well-off but not really in the category of "wealthy". It was his mom who bought them extra utensils when they were still trainees.

tbh i find idols who were born rich quite impressive. like they could easily choose a different, more comfortable career with the help of their parents but they choose to struggle like every other trainee, go through the intense training regime for years & share a small dorm with a bunch of other kids like they leave behind the comfort & luxuries of their home out of pure passion for music & performance
