The way Christianity is practiced in Haiti is the main reason why we have lost and continue to lose our Culture. It's about preserving and elevating the Good things of our past such as dance, dress, music, literature. One does not have to believe in Voodoo or devil or harbour any superstitious beliefs to recognize and cherish this aspect of our roots. And Boukman makes even nobler a use of it by using it to entertain the people and satirize our corrupt politicians .

The white Missionaries, the same people who enslaved us, come to Haiti and tell us that everything that has to do with our roots is of the devil, and we Haitians, and black people in general, buy it. The mind-forged manacles are Indeed the hardest to brake.

Very well done. 12 years ago I stopped listen to Haitian " meringue kanaval", I went back to Haiti last year and realized how much I missed it, Boukman Eksperyans reminds me of the early 90's when I live in Port-au-prince
