Such an enjoyable video to watch, so personable and easy to listen to. Your instructions are to the point and easy to remember. You could sell your own line of products and I’d purchase from you.

Thanks for the reply Jeff. when I buy the sand I use it right away. Today I bought another piece of pipe to tape next to the one that comes with the sand gun. The reason why I have done this is because I thought it would help with the suction. Of course I saw this being done on a YouTube video. So I drilled a few holes at the bottom of it thinking that would solve the pulsing problem. well it didn't. however I did notice that when I get low on sand it seems to work better. I also bought a water separator as well because. Water vapor keeps getting in my airline. even after I put it on I still got water vapor. It didn't make any sense why I kept getting water vapor. well, when I was done for the day, I just happened to look at the bottom of my air tank and seen this valve. My compressor isn't all that old so I never realy paid any attention to this mystery valve. So I read the sticker that was above the valve and it told me to drain the tank everyday or after each use. So I opened her up and let the air out. I read a little more and it said to tilt the tank to let the water out and boy did the water come out. I want to say half a cup of water. shocked the shit out of me. I had no idea. so tomorrow I will be buying more sand and now that I have an empty dry tank, I am hoping that will solve my water vapor and pulsing problem. Also I have been sifting my sand through this metal grate I bought at Walmart. "I think the woman use it for flour or something", anyways, works great but takes up a lot of my time. So I have come up with this idea to drill a hole close to the bottom of the pipe and stick a cotter pin through it so to keep out the big rocks. no more sifting I hope. Got any more tips to share by all means lets hear it. Will let you know how it all turns out. Its all just a process of elimination...

Best presentation I found. Thanks Foer producing it.

Recommendations for sandblasting polymer gun forearm & stocks

My project - Polymer parts. Brand new non coated. Not a stripping application.
My goal - Prep the part surfaces, best adhesion for a DURACOAT spray finish.

■ Media recommendation. i.e. 180 grit aluminum oxide
■ Pressure i.e. 30psi
■ Protective glove type?
■ Distance from nozzle to part?
■ Part Cleanup after done?

Thanks for helping me.

Hey jeff, josh from phx az.. i love the sand blasting man. Im just about to buy one so i can save time on cleaning vehicle parts for my rebuilds and refurbishing.. i do engine rebuilds and refurbish older vehicles. I love how fast the sandblasting works. Its a ton faster then doin it by hand. Having the right tool for the job helps you put out a better product. Ill be gettin one soon. Thats awesome man. Keep up the good work.

Its a 220 volt 5hp Dyna motor connected to a 125 gal tank air tank.

I have a picture of it on our website under photos, shop tour... Youtube does not let us put web links here.

I agree, I talked a little about the sand in part one. Most of my basic videos I try and keep short, I tend not to recap too much just to keep it new and interesting.

Good stuff. .. I have been toying with the idea of buying a blast cabinet for a while now. I did buy a small DIY powder coat kit from Habor Freight which came in handy on my Harley re-build. BTW, I'm in New Haven county so not too far from you.

Hi Jeff.  I have the same blasting gun and it works OK.  If you use the gun outside, spread a large tarpaulin on the ground and if possible pull it up one side to form a backstop to catch the grit.  Then sweep it up with a broom later.  Saves waste. Cheers Rob

I did a little research, this compressor is older than I am and there is no manual. Judging by the size of the heads and how fast the tank reaches 150psi I would estimate it to be in the 18 - 20 CFM range.

The sandblast gun I use came with the "Sandy Jet Abrasive Blasting Cabinet — 36in., Model# 41391" off the Northern Tool website. Hope this helps :)

Hi Dana & Jeff. Thanks for the video, it was very helpful. I just have one question. I'm looking to get into sandblasting and the only thing I'm a bit stuck on is finding the right sized air compressor. I've found one that's 4.5 gallons, 2.5HP, 230V, 115PSI, 8 BAR but only has 4 CFM. Would you say that 4 cfm is a bit low for sand blasting? What sort of power etc would you recommend? Thanks!

Thank you, I know a lot of artists in the past who have had their work copied and stolen.

Do you know how many scfm it puts out? Im running a 60 gallon 3.5 hp 220 volt and it runs pretty much nonstop while sandblasting. What kind of sandblast gun is that? Mine tends to spit and clog at times. Might be normal.
