Bandana: How to fold and tie as headwear

Red Paisley-pattern bandana.

STEP 1: Lift one corner of the bandana and bring it approximately to the centre of the bandana (depending on head size, away from the centre for larger heads).

STEP 2: Fold another layer from the same corner, making the second layer one or two inches wide (depending on head size, narrower for larger heads).

STEP 3: Throw the folded bandana onto your head from the front and hold it in place.

STEP 4: Tie a knot at the back of your head and adjust for comfort.

Years ago, when I first started wearing a bandanna from time to time, I used the only method I knew.. the standard diagonal half fold, then tying the corners around back... this of course leaves the back open and often a flap sticking up in the air a bit. I headed to the local pub and confidently walked up to the pool table and stood next to an older friend of mine (who always wore a bandanna).. he looked at me and said, "I dig the rag man.. now let me show you how to fold it so you don't look like a chick." He showed me the method demonstrated above, and I have to admit, it does look much cooler in my opinion.
