This whole thing can be summed up as “attack of the nerds”. These tech oligarchs are out of control.

Thank you for adressing this issue, no one does

one of the things that we absolutely need to do is go back to doing an off-grid Homestead and get away from all this garbage and go back to natural way of doing things...

Now ask yourself: would they be creating all these power and water hungry data centres if there was a climate emergency?

Was thinking about this quite a bit lately. Household energy bills on the West Coast increased at least 25%, partially in part to Google opening up a data center next to the Dalles dam. Investing in these companies is similar to someone buying Marlboro and then complaining later that they are broke and have lung cancer.

The only reason the lights are still on in Australia, is because we exported our manafacturing industries to china in 1990's!
Now we cant afford anything!

Australia will just talk about building nuclear power stations but won't actually build any nuclear power

They record everything you say and store it in data centre .

Why aren’t those warehouse roofs covered in solar panels? It should be obligatory.

The choice belongs to the people. Your devices or water and food.

Somehow, the mainstream programing says, "crypto mining is bad but nuclear power stations for AI like Constellation's 3 Mile Island is good." Hail Hydra!

So get your solar farm and backup generators ready and your atmospheric water generator to become fully self sufficient 😅

Next thing you know...there will be self replicating Data Centers maintained by self replicating robots all in control of out of control

I don’t know about you guys, but this economy feels worse every day. Prices just keep going up, and it feels like I can’t get ahead no matter how hard I try

Let's say these centers cause brown/blackouts. If people can't use the internet (due to the loss of power) what good are the data centers? The economy is failing, again bad for these centers because hyperinflation will limit the vast majority of people to food, if they can afford it. "AI" can only record what's fed into it. Also, I heard that "AI" based ideas are starting to cost companies more than they anticipated and could cause severe financial effects for those companies. So yes, "AI" can be bad, but right now I think the idea is falling apart, much like electric vehicles and these 15min cities. It's almost 2025 and how are they going to cram us into these cities in 5 years? There's no infrastructure.

Modern Fast Breeder Reactors (Nuclear) are VERY safe, efficient, clean and produce no nuclear waste. They actually can turn existing nuclear waste into fuel. They're really cool. Breeder Cons: Expensive to build and take a long time. I agree about the energy usage and grid capacity issues though - Electrical Engineer who works in industry.
