I learned how bad choke collars are from Victoria. I'm ashamed to say I used one on a dog I had in the past because of her extreme pulling on leash. She would even yank suddenly and pull me down. A belly flop on the ground is not fun.
If only I had known about the different types of training leads, I would have been able to train her to be a safe walker. It wasn't the dog's fault. I just didn't know how to train her.

If I had a dog I needed help with, I would trust Victoria Stillwell over Cesar Millan, and I certainly wouldn't be mean to the doggie and get those horrible torture collars. Victoria trains owners and you can tell that she has a BIG heart and really loves dogs. :) (And cats too! :D)

It’s always stunning the mindset people will let themselves get into when living with animals they don’t get along with. To hear him going from saying he’d hang the dog by it’s neck on the collar to pick her up to then saying he’s happy he knows he’s not hurting her with positive reinforcement? Wow.

I hate the people that just go oh it's my animal I can do whatever the hell I want so they put a choke collar or one of those spike collars on them and choke the hell out of them. I don't understand why so many people are so willing to hurt someone else just to get their way.

I have to keep my dog on a choke collar her head is smaller than her neck so without it she wiggles out. She loves her collar we have on her but she just wiggles off the leash

I don't even clip my leash to her collar it goes around her harness I cannot imagine putting a choke collar on my dog and thinking that's okay. If you can't do the work and you can't be a good pet parent don't get a dog. No one forced you to get that dog. Also the dog didn't make you frustrated you chose to be frustrated. The dogs a dog it's going to act like a dog. But you're the adult human being who should have some control over their emotions so if you get angry or you get frustrated that's you choosing to get that way not somebody for your pet making you act that way. That type of thinking needs to disappear out of people's minds.

I really dont understand owners that continue to use tools that Do Not work for their dog. Like if that collar isnt helping and exacerbating the issue, maybe try something else? Just..isnt trying something new common sense when things arent working?

My farm dogs wear choke chains, but it's only for their ID tags, they are not walked on them

I’m not sure if this is true but I think excessive pulling of a collar around a neck is basically going to really hurt them long term

Yeah I tell people alot during my dogwalks.. I didn't know until my dog went to the vet with backproblems.. he likes to walk next to my bike and is a bit excited first couple off meters.

Choke chains and pinch collars are for professionals like the military and police only when neccessary. If you have a dog that pulls get a front hooking harness.
