In Pakistan's Swat district, archaeologists have uncovered what they consider to be important Buddhist structures that are up to 2,000 years old. They were found in an area that had been used for cattle grazing until recently.

Being Indian Hindu, sometimes I felt that we Indians also lost our Buddhist heritage.
There were Many Buddhist In India till 6 - 7 th century ....
After 7 th century Buddhist declined in Indian subcontinent.
Few examples Kushans, Ashoka, sanchi supta, etc
Even nalanda and taxilla are Buddhist universities maintained by hindus and Buddhist.
Even Jai chand was Buddhist king...
