Food for thought. I fostered two boys at two different times.. I waited to my mid 40's to start. I got myself settled and went thru the process. It takes 8 to 12 months to be approved. They were true gifts in my life, and i know i helped. Both were totally unique and challenging to start and evened out as we got used to the ground rules and structure of living in a stable how. The mutual love and respect was amazing. I hope that helps.

When you're ready I think you would make a great dad. Lots of great kids in foster care looking to just be loved and cared for. Think about becoming a big brother, it's how I started down the road to becoming a parent. Trust was earned not given and the path from big brother to parent was full of lots of growth and understanding. But it's the most rewarding thing I could have ever done. My son and I have a standing joke about who saved who. We saved each other.
