One of the most depressing scenes in movie history in my opinion. He truly believes his son is gone forever at this point and has nothing left

Fun fact: The filmmakers were worried that Ellen DeGeneres, being a comedian, would not be able to perform this dramatic scene. So at the end of the day of recording other scenes, the filmmakers asked DeGeneres to record a trial reading of this scene, with the intention that she go home with a recording of it to work on her actual performance. DeGeneres agreed, but her trial reading was so heartfelt and emotional that (a few edits aside) this is what was used in the final cut of the film.

Marlin lost his wife, all his children, and at that moment the only surviving son he had left. I cannot imagine going through something like that.

I remember watching this as at kid and in LATAM (My mother languages) it's More disturbing. Because instead of saying I'm going home now he said "Nemo Is gone and I am going too" making this scene much darker

This movie is a masterpiece. Who thought a movie about talking fish would be one of the best family movies ever.
So many scenes hit so hard... including this one. :) ;(
