UPHILL MARINA & TOURING PARK | Tour & Review | February 2024 | Weston-super-Mare

Показать описание
We take our two rescue chihuahuas to stay for two nights at the Uphill Marina and Touring Park, in our Roller Team Auto-Roller 707 motorhome (and my T6 VW California Ocean campervan gets a cameo too 😉).
The campsite is relatively small (they open more grass pitches in the summer months) and the hardstanding pitches are situated in a ring around the saltwater lake (you can do watersports or swimming here, as long as you fill out the appropriate forms). This gives them all a great view - not least because the site sits under Uphill Beacon, so the scenery is particularly stunning.
There are some good walks from here - we walked into Weston itself via the beach, which is only a walk of maybe 5 minutes from the site, and up the Beacon to see the Old Church of St Nicholas and to admire the views over the campsite to the coastline beyond, but there were other walks that could be done too.
The campsite has the usual facilities, including a drive over motorhome service point (the drain itself is quite tight to the wall but with a bit of manoeuvring emptying out was fine). There are toilet/shower facilities for both the campsite and the marina.
When we stayed, the campsite toilets/showers were being replaced - the new block was in place and looked pretty smart externally, but wasn't functioning yet. The marina facilities were available and these were clean and warm (note there's only one toilet and shower each for male and female, and 2 unisex shower/handbasin rooms). These were perhaps a little dated but are due for an upgrade once the new campsite facilities are in operation (this was due to happen on 8 February so presumably they are fully up and running now).
The site is secured by an electric gate. You are emailed the code for this and the shower/toilet facilities on the morning of your arrival, and this worked fine for us.
A bonus of the site is that the Boathouse Cafe is just outside the gate - we only had (good) coffees there, but the food menu looked enticing too and there were decent options for vegetarians and vegans.
Please note there is no WiFi on site. Our phone signal seemed OK though.
We would go back. The location is excellent and we'd be interested to see the new facilities.
