Struggling to find the best DAC possible under 1000 to replace my 'boring' DacMagic 100. Purchasing a DAC nowdays is not easy. Its impossible to hear all DACs out there at your listening room, with your gear. But the way i see it, by your review, this is probably the fittest of all out there to accompany my Rega amp and the Martin Logan 20i speakers. I was going for the Gustard X18 but ... Fingers crossed :)

Overall I thought this was an excellent review. I think a lot of folks will be auditioning this vs DACs such as Su-9 Pro, SU-10, VMV D1SE2 and M500MK3, so it would have been nice to have heard a bit more words about how these compare to the Z8.

I'm glad you make comparisons of what dacs perform best with heavier music. I listen to a lot of Industrial, EDM and Metal. I guess it's safe to say the Ares 2 would be an awful option for me. Should I consider the Denafrips Venus or the Gustard X26Pro? What would you choose if you were listening to the above styles of music exclusively?

Good presentation, it has everything we need, streamer, dac and dsp. Why didn't you open it to show the interior floors, screens, components, it would have been a complete presentation!

Ma ho bisogno di un suo consiglio. Volendo aggiungere un dac esterno al mio streamer, le chiedo la sua preferenza tra Eversolo DAC z8 e Smsl su-10.
