Wireless power is here, and while consumers aren't yet using wireless power tech to charge their consumer electronics just yet, the technology is rolling out at retail, and this is the decade we'll see a much greater industrial, business, retail and consumer rollout!

The company says its WattUp technology enables wireless charging at contact as well as charging over the air, depending on application, and is an award-winning, RF-based, scalable technology that "transforms the way we charge and power electronic devices."

It also claims to differ from "older, rigid wireless charging systems because it supports charging in a variety of ways depending on the device and application."

So, when we saw Energous at both the Pepcom 2022 side event at CES, and during CES 2022 itself in The Venetian, we had to speak to them to see what developments were in store for 2022, and where the wireless power revolution is at!

Clearly, the claim that the wireless power revolution being finally upon is has come true at long last - the technology has been invented and refined, and now it is in the process of being widely distributed across industry, retail, offices and homes.

It will certainly be fascinating to watch this now start more rapidly unfolding, with the children and grandchildren of the future perhaps only knowing the umbilical cable as the only corded thing left on the planet. We’re not quite there yet, but wireless power is charging ahead as never before, and it is definitely an electrifyingly great time to be alive!
