"I wanted to testify, but I'd lie and get charged with perjury. But I'm not under oath now..."

He wanted to testify. Just not under oath.

No one has to wonder why Judge Merchan was constantly calling out Todd Blanche during the trial, after watching Todd Blanche's interview on CNN.

Trump always claims to want to testify under oath, but he never does so.

Lawrence O'Donnell, you along with Andrew Weissmann, Lisa Rubin, and Adam Klasfeld are such great commentators! I used to go to CNN for my news, but now I go to you, thank you MSNBC

Blanche's excuse for not calling certain witnesses was weak and irrelevant. It's no wonder why he lost the case.

No criminal defendant should ever testify on his own behalf. Never! Especially if you are guilty!

Jeez, As a former US District Court reporter, I heard a lot of Defense attorneys claim all sorts of BS because they knew their client was guilty and don't have a defense, but this Blanche dude blaming the Prosecutor for not calling witnesses on his behalf? That's a high level of victimhood if ever there was one.

LOL, they didn't call witnesses because he couldn't COUNT ON THEM TO COMMIT PERJURY for him!

How can people trust this person who has little to no regard for rule of law.. Justice served well and timely.

It's not the Prosecutor's job to call people that hurt their case and help the Defense. The defense has every opportunity to call witnesses that he believes will help his client.

Trump defense team: We didn't call those witnesses because they would have made us look guilty!

He would be found guilty of perjury for all his lies.

Todd Blanche wasted so much time in the closing arguments, and elsewhere, trying to tear apart Michael Cohen. How many times did he refer to him as a liar? Whether he was one or not, he wasn't the person who is on trial. Michael Cohen already had his trial and served his time.

A custodial sentence is the only option. At its heart the verdict is that he lied, covered up & committed fraud on the people. He has been doing that from day one & has not stopped. He has shown no remorse or willingness to changes his ways. He is defrauding people of their money by the lies he tells in his fund raising.

If Trump can't trust his own mouth, why should anybody?

The only people surprised by this are the ones who wear that red hat a little too tight.

If Trump had testified he would have simultaneously committed perjury, incriminated himself and or plead the Fifth.
