I have had an exciting day. Went to Des Moines and took my amateur radio test and passed the basic technician test and also the mid-level general class test. Now I can put some of what I’ve learned from you into practice. Thanks for all your great videos.

as a kid in the 60's, i remember a writing spider who built in a stress relief into it's web. it spun a web in our azalea bushes. it then utilized a stone by tying it off in a basket of sorts and lowering it over a branch of the azalea bush. i would have done much the same only adding an anti-friction point by placing a hard plastic cover over one of the tree limbs, maybe a pulley tied off to it and using a 5lb weight being the slack adjuster/strain relief.

Great idea. That provides much better strain relief than bungy cords.

Make a video for new technicians like myself called "you have you license and a Boefeng, now what?"
It's funny how you can pass that test and still have no idea what to do, or what you can do. I just want to make a simple antennae for my Boefeng tri-power, but am not sure how.
