Great detailed review! I have also seen this printer running at Matter Hackers and was pleasantly impressed by it!

Just bought one with an Olson Ruby Nozzle. Haven't received it yet. Very good production! You are extremely informative! I have destroyed a FlashForge, a Monoprice, TWO different XYZ's and an Anycubic Mega I3. I hope this Pulse will make MY pulse go up! I guess I'm a little hard on machines. I run them constantly pumping out my projects. I've graduated from the toys. I hope this will be a tool.

As someone who uses 3D printing for my small business and youtube channel for all of my Props, this printer looks fantastic.

Not sure of why so many people complain about the price. You pay for convenience. If I buy something from matter hackers I can expect consistent (and might I add amazing customer service), a local retailer and something I don't have to worry about.

Personally? I would rather spend my time printing instead of building and trouble shooting a kit.

My preference and I think this or the XE will be my next buy for sure.

Joe, When you finally found the sweet setting for the printer, you did not say what they were, or I missed it. Add some screen shots of the slicer profile that you found worked best, we can pause the You Tube and copy the settings for use with this printer.

I find the Z probe for a z home switch a bit wierd. Other than that, it looks like a very well calibrated machine and it is cool to see that the bowden setup and stepper dampeners don't impact negatively print quality if the machine is well calibrated. Interesting decisions from Matterhackers. I am making my own custom machine so I am not interested in the machine itself, but interesting review and a good video with information on the changes the machine had in 2-3 months time.

I've been trying to get a Nuby Rozzle, but they are hard to find. 😉

Ok, I'm impressed . I was wondering how does the print quality of the cr-10 compare ? I have a feeling it won't even come close . Even though I really like the cr-10's build volume, I think quality is more important to me . Do you happen to have a Zortrax m200 to compare print quality with ? I believe the m200 by far has the best print quality I've seen thus far but the $2k price tag and the really expensive filament scares me .

Is it possible for you to do a video about what you changed in the G code to get the results you ended up with? Possibly with a free slicer? I have ordered a Pulse and I'm a rookie with slicers so if I get bad prints from MatterControl I would like to know how to improve. TIA!

Wait.. you said it has a orbit(?) calibration sensor which is identical to the bltouch?
The camera shows its an Antclabs BLtouch.. 2:01 (confused..)

I've watched this video a few times now. Great stuff. Now that I received my Pulse can you share the changes you made to Simplify3D to get a profile to print with? While MatterControl is great, I much prefer S3D.

Am jelly of the 0.1 Benchy! Never been able to read the plate like that on prints from my A8.

I almost cried at the beauty of that benchy, 10:15.

Hey Joe, can you post the link to the dropbox for the 3d benchy gcode. The print looks amazing, great job. Thanks

Must say I just bought an Ender 3 and after some tweeks with the extruder it printed as good if not better than this. I paid £169 and got it next day of amazon.

Hmm it would be nice if it had a removable build plate like the mk3, a bigger print volume like the cr10 and standard stuff like power resume, filament sensor. I think the cr10s and mk3 are a better deal if customer support is not important. Also the price is a bit high imho for a prusa clone. 500 sounds more right to me. Love the looks of it.. It has a bit of a raw look to it. Nice!

Are you willing to share the profile you made for Cura or Simplify 3D? Matterhackers won't give this info out since they want everyone to use the Matter Control software which is horrible.

So let me share my Pulse story. I eagerly purchased a pulse with the bond tech extruder and hardened steel nozzle. When I got it it didn't have the auto leveling. I had all the same starting problems and sent it back once and when I got it back had several good prints before problems again. I wish I had seen your review. My problem was I was determined to get matter control to work. After months of problems I just didn't have the knowledge to troubleshoot or the time. I will say that Matterhackers was great in all aspects. I agreed this just wasn't the printer for me at the time. They were always patient, and honestly with that kind of support I would absolutely buy a printer from them again. The quality of the good prints I got off this printer were amazing. Both in pla and PETG. I just stuck with matter control and mostly used pc control because I had to leave machine unattended often and wanted to have a way to cancel a print. (I monitored over cam)

Knowing that it just takes some more tweaking is nice. I do wish it was consistent for me with matter control I really liked the software. I may stick with a cr-10 for a while.
