Pre-Algebra Lesson #5 Properties of Addition | Commutative | Associative

In this lesson, we will begin to review the addition operation. We will start by thinking about what addition represents. Then we will move on and learn about some useful properties such as the commutative property of addition, the associative property of addition, and the identity property of zero. Additionally, we will review how to name the parts of an addition problem. We call the numbers being added together the addends and the result of the addition operation the sum.
