I love you girl but I have to disagree. My family and I are on our fifth home (I'm 58) and I just don't see these trends or colors as realistic for the average person. Grey was everywhere for 8 years and now it's not. Beige is now the new grey. Blonde wood was the rage and now it's medium dark. Black granite was it until it wasn't. The best kitchen reno is what goes with the rest of your house and if you have a lot of white trim and white molding....a white kitchen with a pop of subtle color will always be the way to go. Most people reno their kitchens every 20 years or so and even then it's often not a full reno. I just find some of these suggestions to be totally out of touch.

I like what I like. I HATE white white white kitchens, especially ultramodern sterile spaces that remind me of a morgue on a spaceship.

White CABINETS, maybe. With green countertops. And red or blue enameled appliances. And sunny yellow paint. Furniture in the same color family. And a multicolored tile backsplash that ties all that together.

Otherwise: red stained wood cabinetry with a similar color scheme.

Don't like it? Don't care. Stay out of my house.

Who the heck is cleaning the fluted wood cabinets. Looks great but completely impractical. Sometimes a design trend should just be ignored, this is one of those.

Against all advice I was given, I painted my kitchen black. I ADORE it and absolutely don't regret it.

I love, love, love my white kitchen cabinets, and my countertops. I have always wanted a black and white kitchen. I have lived here five years, and I love it more every day.

What you’re showing today is ugly and very expensive! Love white kitchen! Love a bit of natural wood and stone but you can add anything with the white palate.

I bought a house in 2022 with a slate floor, hickory cabinets, green granite counters (love them!). No desire to make it white. And I sold a house with oak cabinets (old but good condition), maple floors and green granite counters and got top dollar

Love it Lisa. And, I’m totally fine with your advertisements. I’m happy that you’re getting some sponsorship and with that I’m gaining free-of-charge great professional interior design lessons that I truly love.
Lisa, please thank your team for giving us so much art and culture. And of course, thank you very much too.

I absolutely cannot stand the European trend of hidden kitchen. Something I would never consider. I never went for the all white kitchen either. Such an unimaginative and boring space. Just as bad as all grey or all black kitchens. I think the idea of wall paper or a patterned ceiling and color on the lower cabinets is a great idea.

All white kitchens looks like science labs. That’s MY opinion. 😂😂

Don’t do white countertops-they show every speck. Do a speckled top which hides the specks and feels better with less effort. White counters look so good but don’t give you a break and they can stain so quickly and is a costly choice you will always be cleaning way more than the speckled surface granite etc.

I get what you're saying. The concept of hiding the kitchen workspace behind a wall reminds us of corporate executive temp -living spaces in the '70s' and '80's. Think back to Diane Lane's temporary San Francisco divorce-apartment in Under The Tuscan Sun. No one wants that vibe, IMHO.

really enjoyed the video because it showed the average person how they could update what they already had without redoing the entire space. Most of us just don't have the funds to do a kitchen redo more than once in our adult lives. Keep these types of videos coming. So Helpful

I disagree. Timeless looks are a smarter design choice for high value, more permanent areas like a kitchen and bathroom. If you want to follow trends, do so with soft touches, not hard touches.

I've always hated white kitchens. Completely boring and sterile. Those ultra bold colors are just as bad though. I'm going with toned-down, desaturated colors for my kitchen.

I lived in an apartment with hardwareless cabinets in the kitchen and based on that experience I would never go that route, no matter the trend. When you’re in the kitchen your hands may be wet, you may have food on them without realizing it, and you’re touching all these surfaces all the time. Which means you have to clean these cabinets all the time where you may be leaving finger stains of all kind. Over time the paint starts wearing off just in those areas you’re constantly touching and cleaning. After a couple of years you may need to repaint all the cabinets. Adding handles to the kitchen cabinets is a must IMO, especially if they are just wood and paint. If they are some other material you may not need to repaint so often but you’ll still be wiping finger prints of them all the time. Who has time for that?

White will ALWAYS be outdated & low budget in my world
And beige or grey need to immediately be painted over in a COLOR or wallpapered. I love wallpapering a foyer and dining room and ofc, all the bedrms

an 11 min video is now gummed up with 4 minutes of sad, never used to be this way. That said white has always been the color of choice because if you do any serious cooking (my kitchen is not simply a showpiece) then it needs to be CLEANED- and bleach and other semi harsh cleansers are the go to for a truly deep cleaned kitchen that isn't industrial steel... with white you don't have to worry about bleaching out fragile colors.

Real Europeans (especially Italians in the US & CA) solve all these problems simply by having 2 kitchens. One to cook in that is totally out of sight in the basement or cellarway and the other is just for show. The stove needs to be lightly dusted once in a while and you are perpetually prepared to recieve company at a moments notice.😁

Bought a home in 1995 with white painted cabinets. They were chipping and staining within 3 years by 5 they looked like heck. I finally got new cabinets in February 2024. I don’t think painted cabinets are durable enough to survive a kitchen that is used regularly. Maybe if you don’t cook much painted cabinets are fine. I also would not have wood flooring in a kitchen with wood cabinets as it’s really difficult to coordinate.
