Subscribe for more bird sounds! This is a Northern Flicker calling out at Big Bear Lake, California. Northern Flickers are quite vocal woodpeckers that sound similar to the Pileated Woodpecker, just with a faster frequency to their calls. Big Bear Lake is a gorgeous place to camp at for the weekend and enjoy wildlife and epic views. I saw Grebes and Stellar's Jays here as well.

The only thing I don’t like about Flickers are that their bodies trigger my trypophobia 🫣
